Syllabus Information

4.1. Assessment tasks (description of tasks, marking system and assessment criteria)

Evaluation will consist of summative coursework tasks (oral presentations, reading comprehension of a book, listening tests and email writing).

If the students fails the summative coursework he/she will have to take a final exam which consists of four parts (based on the four skills). He/she will have to reach a global mark of 60 % provided he/she obtains at least 50% in each one of the parts. 

5.1. Methodological overview

The learning process is as follows:

Students must participate actively and on a regular basis. The subject will focus on the learning strategies which allow students to manage in a multi-cultural context. 

5.2. Learning tasks

Students will be informed on Moodle.

The book Version Originale 1 (Éditions Maison des Langues, Paris) will be used as textbook. Also the Grammaire Progressive du Français - Niveau Débutant (CLE International) will help to check and revise grammar. Finally, the exercises on webpage http://www.lepointdugfle.net/ will be of great help as well.

5.3. Syllabus

Grammar: personal pronouns, the present tense, questions, quantifiers, prepositions, negation, possessive adjectives, pronominal verbs, comparatives, object pronouns, il y a/ il n'y a pas, "en", the future, partitives, the passé composé, adverbs and their position in the sentence.    

Vocabulary: introducing oneself, greeting, describing people and places, personality traits, likes, dislikes and hobbies, routines, time, clothes and shopping, food and restaurants, work. 

Writing: knowing the email structure, particularly its main parts; writing a simple formal email.

Speaking: making an oral presentation using a logical structure.
